Do you care about yourself or do you get easily influenced? Do you often get controlled by others and their perception of you?
Audre Lorde states “self-care is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation”. Then why do we not focus on ourselves, but on others? But we direly need to change our lenses to focus on what matters the most right now. This is entirely about willpower, self-control, self-awareness, self-care, and self-love.
Why do you think the stress has eaten up so much from one’s life?
It’s common to reject or punish yourself when you have been rejected by others. When you experience disappointment, and heartbreak, from the way your family, your loved ones, your friends, and foes treat you, that’s when you got to take care of yourself the most.
Now, what are you doing to get out of it, what are you doing to nurture yourself? What are you doing to protect or save yourself from not confronting the situation but to face it with all your willpower confidence courage and intellect?
Today, most of us are under a tremendous amount of stress due to a lot happening in our personal or professional lives, so when we are already aware of the problem, what are we doing to cut down on that, eliminate the stress factor?
One of the things that strikes me the most that no matter what you do, if you go on a world tour, have the most blessed and blissful days of your life, have everything served to you on the platter, born with a golden spoon, with all the luxuries and fancy life around you, you still have to have some kind of ground reality which you encounter when you are alone and just by yourself.
And somehow people don’t realize they are self-harming their image, rather their own-self.
The phrase “self-harm” brings up hostile thoughts but that’s only a small portion of it. When you drink excessively to drown your sorrows to the point you throw up and can’t see straight or you take drugs to feel numb and it becomes an addiction that you can’t break.
You have self-harmed and you are in control of your own thoughts. The good, bad, and the ugly.
We need to start treating ourselves how we need to be treated, even if we feel, no one else does. Prove to the world rather for your own self that you are worth something and beyond.
You deserve that care, love, respect, and hope that is going to only start with you. Be so self-determined, that no one can break you and push you towards your weaknesses.
Stand so loud and proud today and onwards for the bridges you have climbed, battles you have won, for the mountains you have conquered, examples you have set, empowerment you have achieved, self-inspiration you have gained, self-care you have shown, and most importantly the person you have become after this all.
Like you are finally your own self, where you are your priority.
